The Cause
Help Us Get Furniture To Our Neighbours
Participating in Heads Without Beds means you will give up your bed for one night to raise awareness and funds to support the life-changing work of Home Again Furniture Bank. By sleeping without your bed for just one night and finding sponsors to support your efforts, you're helping to ensure the continued free delivery of beds and other furniture to our neighbours who live without. On "sleep without" night, Heads Without Beds participants will gather for a fun all-ages event* before returning to their chosen sleeping arrangements - whether it be at home or a shared space with your fundraising team. Supporting this campaign means our neighbours can experience the comfort, dignity and stability of a bed to sleep in.
Get involved by registering yourself or a team to participate, sponsoring a participant or donating. We also offer unique corporate sponsorship opportunities!
*To join us for the event, we kindly ask that each participant raises a minimum amount to support our cause. Your contribution makes a big difference!
"Thanks for giving up your bed for one night, raising awareness for families like mine. Home Again has made a big impact for me and my son's day-to-day living, so thank you for helping us make our home a home."
You will help ensure our neighbours throughout the Northeast Avalon region have the furniture they need when you register for Heads Without Beds, sponsor a participant, donate to the campaign or take advantage of our 2025 Heads Without Beds corporate sponsorship opportunities.
Registration is open and the campaign launches on February 21, leading up to the event and sleep-without night on March 21, 2025. For more information about corporate sponsorship opportunities, please connect with Maureen Lymburner or Amy Tulk. maureenlymburner@homeagainfb.com 709-325-0072

Though the team at Carvel & Helm have been referring clients to donate their gently-used furniture to Home Again, as well as volunteering annually for Special Delivery Days for years, it was last year when they decided to join the Heads Without Beds fundraiser as a team. Although they knew this would be another great opportunity to connect as a team they also wanted to expand their engagement by inviting their families to get involved.
Archdeacon Charlene Taylor has known and supported Home Again Furniture Bank since its inception thanks to her lifelong work with the Anglican Church. As an Archdeacon and parish priest, she has seen first-hand why Home Again is essential for those in our communities.
Two years ago, Michelle took part in Heads Without Beds with her workplace team to support Home Again Furniture Bank. Together, they raised funds to help families without beds. To make the experience more meaningful, Michelle and her 5-year-old son spent the night on the floor as a way to reflect on gratitude and giving back. She found it rewarding and encourages others to get involved.
